According to our books there were 4 makers with this name, father, son and 2 others, all in Newcastle. John Beech (1) was born in 1707 and apprenticed in 1721. We will put together a page about them and add it to our website next week.

Hi,

The makers listed on the page are Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire but there is a Newcastle upon Tyne in Northumberland, quite a few miles further north.

A list of Newcastle makers is available in the book "Clockmakers of Northumberland and Durham by Keith Bates I.S.B.N. 0 09506935 0 2 which you may be able to borrow from a public library. The list does not date each maker and is about 4 pages long.
We are unable to copy this for you this as it would breach copyright regulations.
